1. Drawing on Google Slides With Scribble

You can draw different shapes and lines from the Insert menu in Google Slides. Although there’s a decent variety of shapes built into Google Slides, there’s a chance that the exact shape that you want isn’t included in the presets.

Scribble is another tool in the Google Slides Insert menu that allows you to draw freely on the slides. Once you’re done drawing, you can modify the drawing and change its formatting to better represent what you have in mind. Here’s how you can free draw with Scribble in Google Slides:

Create a presentation in Google Slides. Go to the Insert menu. From the Insert menu, go to Line and then select Scribble.

You’ll notice that your mouse cursor has changed to a crosshair now. This means that you can go on ahead and start free drawing on the slides by holding the left mouse button and moving it on the canvas.

Once you let go of the left-click on your mouse, the drawing will be selected. With the drawing selected, you’ll see customization options in the toolbar. You can change the line color, weight, dash, and even turn the start or end points of the line into arrows.

You can also further modify the visuals of your drawing from the Format options. With the drawing selected, click on Format options in the toolbar. This will open the Format options window on the right. From there, you can change the size and position and even add a drop shadow or reflection to your drawing.

2. Importing a Google Drawings Image Into Google Slides

Google Drawings is a wonderful web-based drawing platform by Google. There are many things you can do with Google Drawings, and what’s more, you can seamlessly import your drawings into other Google apps, including Google Slides.

To import a drawing into your Google Slides presentation, you need to draw it in Google Drawings first. So head to Google Drawings and draw what you need on the blank canvas. Once you’re happy with the drawing and ready to export it to Google Slides, follow the steps below:

In Google Drawings, go to the File menu. Go to Share and then select Publish to web. Select a size for the image and then click Publish. Google will now give you a link for your drawing. Copy the link.

Now it’s time to head back to Google Slides and insert the drawing there.

In Google Slides, go to the Insert menu. Go to Image and then select By URL. Paste the link you copied from Google Drawings. Google will now give you a preview of the image. Click on Insert Image.

That’s about it! You should see your drawing in Google Slides now! Just like the previous method, you can alter the size and add some aesthetic attributes to this image through Format options.
